Soon we will plunge into shadows and lose
Completely our connection to our hearts.
We shall arrive to that life of sorrow
Like an elephant tethered to a string,
And accept it as the lie that foretells
Our tomorrows. This abandonment act
Began long ago, in the first light of
Our dawning days – ‘Oh, great reader of lies!’
Yes, you sip into your perfect body
The recycled bile of a Bad News World.
Even as you grow stronger and informed,
You remain tethered to the News of lies. “Citizen!
You must dig deep for the truth,
You have nothing to lose but your freedom!”
